Our Story
Technology that serves you.
Distributed Technologies is a boutique technology consultancy built on a radical premise: your tech should work for you — not for the companies selling it to you.
"In an industry that profits from confusion and lock-in, we take a different approach."
Our Mission
We exist to bridge the gap between the technology you need and the expertise required to use it well. That means taking the time to understand your goals, assessing your real situation, and delivering solutions that genuinely fit — not whatever's easiest to sell.
We educate as we implement, we recommend tools based on merit rather than commercial relationships, and we build relationships that last beyond any single engagement.
What We Stand For
Our Values
Four principles that shape every recommendation we make and every relationship we build.
Privacy-First
Your data belongs to you. We advocate for privacy-respecting tools, local data ownership, and transparent security practices in everything we recommend.
Education-Focused
We don't just fix problems — we teach you to understand them. Every engagement includes hands-on guidance so you can make informed decisions independently.
Vendor-Agnostic
No brand loyalty, no undisclosed financial relationships. We evaluate every tool on its merits — and where we earn affiliate commissions, those are fully disclosed and never change which tools we recommend.
Long-Term Partnership
Technology evolves constantly. We build ongoing relationships through retainer and subscription models, ensuring your technology grows alongside you.
Our Model
Why a Tech Concierge?
Think of us as your personal technology advisor — someone who knows your setup, understands your preferences, and is always a call away. Unlike big-box support desks or generic IT firms, we build deep, trusted relationships with each client.
Whether you need a one-time privacy audit or an ongoing technology partnership, we scale our involvement to match your needs. For individuals, that might mean quarterly check-ins and device updates. For organizations, it might mean acting as your fractional CTO — guiding technology strategy from the ground up.
- ✓ One-time engagements & project work
- ✓ Monthly & quarterly retainer partnerships
- ✓ Fractional CTO & ongoing advisory
- ✓ Always begins with a free consultation
How We Work
Our Approach
Listen First
Every engagement starts with an honest conversation. We ask about your goals, frustrations, and current setup — not to qualify you as a customer, but to genuinely understand where we can help.
Assess & Recommend
We evaluate your existing technology, identify gaps, and build a clear picture of what's working and what isn't — then recommend a path forward with honest trade-offs laid out plainly.
Implement & Teach
We build and configure your solution while walking you through every step. The goal isn't dependency — it's understanding. You should know how your technology works.
Stay Available
Technology doesn't stay static, and neither do we. Through ongoing partnerships, we're here as your setup evolves — new devices, new threats, new goals, new questions.
The Person Behind It
Our Founder
Distributed Technologies was built on a career spent where emerging technology meets real-world complexity. From leading cybersecurity product development at a hardware-backed authentication startup, to senior product management at enterprise engineering firms, to co-founding a patented digital payments platform — the constant has been translating sophisticated technology into outcomes that genuinely serve the people relying on it.
That breadth of experience — across security, product, payments, edtech, and government — crystallized a clear point of view: the most important question isn't which tools to adopt, it's how to adopt them wisely. That means understanding trade-offs, preserving human oversight, and building systems that serve your goals. Today, that standard drives work in AI strategy, privacy-first technology design, and fractional CTO consulting — a role that in practice spans both the technology execution of a CTO and the information governance of a CIO — bringing enterprise-grade thinking to the organizations that need it most.
